North Carolina Job Approval Authority

NRCS and its partners utilize a job approval authority system to ensure that all employees are fully qualified to plan, design, and verify proper installation or implementation of practices.  This system is based on proven experience, formal training, and on-the-job training.  Although any employee or partner may work on desitning any practice, an individual with the proper level of job approval for that practice must sign the final design and practice check-out.  The NRCS Job Approval Authority applies to all NRCS employees as well as others working under the technical responsibility of NRCS through operational agreements or other arrangements (e.g. Soil and Water Conservation District technical staff).  The NRCS Job Approval Authority does not apply to Technical Service Providers who are operating solely under the provisions in the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (PL 107-171)
